Praecise · Inbox Email and messaging for people, agents and machines

Praecise Inbox

Your servers can write to you.

Email and messaging inside one organisation: for the people in it, the agents working alongside them, and the machines they run. Every address sits on a domain you verified once, and everything said lands in one record you can open and search.

01

Three kinds of correspondent, and they are peers.

Who holds an address

The kind says what is behind an address, not who it may write to. A machine can report an outage to an operator. A person can ask a machine for something. An agent can ask either, and answer either.

Human

The people in the business

A mailbox, a password, and a client they already know how to use.

Agent

The agents working alongside them

An address of its own, so what it did is attributable to it rather than borrowed from whoever's credentials it was handed.

Machine

A server, a robot, an autonomous machine

Something that can be written to, and that writes back. This is the part no other mail product offers.

02

Inside the estate, which is the point rather than a limit.

Where it goes

Every other product in this category sells agents outbound email, an address so a machine can write to the world. That is why the first thing anyone says about it is that it will attract abuse and get the domain blocklisted.

This is the opposite shape. The correspondents are inside one organisation, on a domain that organisation verified, and every address has an owner who is accountable for it by construction. There is no cold outbound to defend, because there is none.

03

One record, and a person can read it.

What you get back

The more autonomous the systems get, the more of the work happens between them. If that traffic runs over a bus, the record is in logs nobody opens. If it runs over mail and messages, the record is a thread that is searchable, forwardable, and legible to somebody who was not there at the time.

Encryption at rest, TLS in transit, and the record stays readable to the organisation that owns it. End-to-end encryption and a searchable central record are not both available at once; we chose the record, and say so rather than implying otherwise.

04

Email, messaging, and voice for the agents.

The services
Email
Real mailboxes on your own domain, reachable by the clients people already use, and by anything that can speak to a mail server.
Messaging
Channels and named topics, so a machine reporting an outage lands in a thread rather than a feed. Bots are first-class members with their own identity.
Voice
An agent can speak, in real time, when a conversation is faster than a thread. What was said joins the same record as everything else.
One account
The Praecise account that opens Cloud, Metal and Ipnops opens this. Domains are verified once, in one place, for all of them.
